第一天（The First Day)
上学路上，久雨过后的天空展露出明净的蓝色，白色、墨色、厚的、薄的白云簇拥在一起，堆积出一个魔幻世界。
「真美啊！」老母亲感叹，心想，又到了一年一度可以水彩写生的季节了。
「感觉我们又可以编故事了。」老母亲扭头对小童说，「Look at there，the clouds look like a castle，maybe a princess lived in the castle. And a dragon came to the castle, and wanted to fight with the princess… 」
「The princess was scared, and the prince came」小童抢着往下接，「……The dragon ran away」
「我想的剧情可不是这样的的。」老母亲笑了，「为啥一出事，就要prince出场，不能princess自己fight for herself吗？」
「再说了，prince也不是总能打败怪兽，说不定他都不会用剑呢！」老母亲补充说。
马路上太吵了，不知道小童有没有听清楚。转进学校的小马路上，世界才算清净了点。
「你知道stereotype吗？」老母亲问。
「啥？」
「嗯，字面意思就是刻板印象、陈词滥调。」老母亲想起了麦基的《故事》（注：书中序言注释【2】）。
「一讲公主和怪物的故事，就出现王子，大家听完前半部就知道后半部了，肯定是公主被王子拯救了，于是幸福地生活在一起。这种故事类型太多了，都没有新鲜感了。现在来说，就很难成为一个好故事了，是个老套剧情。」
排进等待进校队伍的小童侧着脑袋，若有所思。
第二天（The Second Day)
走过马路上的小桥，小童开口了，「Mommy，I can tell a story。」
「你说什么？」一辆小车按着喇叭开过去，老母亲什么也没听清。
「I can tell you a story！」他大声说了一遍。
「OK……」老母亲拉着他踏上台阶，「Go ahead with your story。」
**> One day, the princess went for a walk,then a dragon was coming.
「Look，a beautiful princess！」said the dragon，「what‘s your name? I want to marry with you！」
「I am Lucy, I don’t want to marry with you！」
「why?why?」
「No! No! I don’t want to marry with you!」
Then a prince was coming. And the prince see(saw) the dragon, 「oh，no！A dragon?!」
「Oh, my dad tell（tells） me, see the dragon, I need to move（hide）. So I will run!」the prince ran away.
The dragon laughing(laughed), and chasing(chased) the prince.
The princess don’t have talk and go(went) back to the castle.(他想表达的是：公主很无语。） （注: 括号内为老母亲修正或者注解） **
马路上，按着喇叭的小车一辆接着一辆，老母亲错过了最后一句，还沉浸在上一句的困惑中：什么鬼？要跟公主结婚的dragon去追prince了？忍不住追问，「公主呢？公主干嘛去了？」
小童小童复述了最后一句。老母亲哈哈大笑，心想，真有你的！你老妈琢磨了一年半，都没想出来重构故事的点子，你倒是第二天就上路了！
小童露出招牌式、羞怯的笑容，「这个故事，我昨晚上练习了很久呢！」
